Former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa has taken ill on Monday evening. He has been rushed to and admitted at the Thapathali-based Norvic Hospital after suffering from a bout of hypertension and nausea.Norvic Hospital's Executive Director Dr. Bharat Rawat, who is involved in Thapa's treatment,told Online that the symptoms are suggestive of a minor stroke.The 84-year-old leader has been receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital."Mr Thapa was brought to norvic around 7.30 pm. He had giddiness and nausea and vomiting with high blood pressure," Dr. Rawat said.
The CT scan results, however, are normal, and Thapa is currently stable, Dr. Rawat updated at 8:50 pm.A team of doctors including Dr. Rawat, Madhu Ghimire and Jagdish Agarwal are involved in Thapa's treatment.The chairman of Rastriya Janashakti Party, Thapa has served as Nepal's prime minister for five times. He hails from the eastern district of Dhankuta.
