Samsung Records Galaxy Note smartphone and the Galaxy Tab 8.9


For gizmo lovers, here comes good news. International Marketing Service (IMS), authorised distributor of Samsung mobiles for Nepal, will be taking the wraps off the Galaxy Note smartphone and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 in the near future.
According to IMS chairman Dipak Malhotra, -the company will unveil the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 by next week and the Galaxy Note smartphone by mid-December. “We are receiving very good inquiries from customers,” Malhotra said, adding that the company was confident about the performance of these gadgets in Nepal.The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a 3G device. Powered by the Android v3.0 honeycomb operating system, the device features an 8.9 inch PLS TFT capacitive touch screen. The tablet’s CPU features dual-core 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, ULP GeForce GPU and Tegra 2 T20 chipset.  

Likewise, the tablet’s screen is equipped with multi-touch input technology, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, three-axis gyro sensor and touch sensitive controls. The device features 16 GB internal memory that can be upgraded up to 32 GB and 64 GB. It comprises 1 GB RAM. As far as the camera is concerned, the tab comes with a 3.15 mega pixel camera with LED flash and auto focus. There is also a 2 mega pixel secondary camera.

In addition, the device comes with various features like digital compass, TV out, image/video editor, Quick office HD editor/viewer, Google search, maps, Gmail, YouTube, Picasa Integration, Adobe Flash 10.2 support, voice memo and Li-Po 6000 mAh standard battery. The device, according to Malhotra, will be priced at around Rs 58,000.The other device, the Galaxy Note smartphone, is fitted with the Android v2.3.5 gingerbread operating system and dual-core 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 CPU processor with Mali-400 MP GPU and Exynos chipset. The handset comes with a 5.3 inch super AMOLED captivating touch screen. The handset display comprises gorilla glass display, multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, touch sensitive control, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and gyroscope sensor.
The phone comes with 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage options and 1 GB RAM. Its memory can be upgraded up to 32 GB through a microSD card. The phone’s camera has auto focus LED flash 8 mega pixel camera with geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection and image stabilization. The phone also features a 2 mega pixel secondary camera.    
Moreover, the device features TV out via MHL A/V link, digital compass, image/video editor, document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Google search, maps, Gmail, YouTube, calendar, Picasa Integration, Adobe Flash 10.1 support, voice memo/dial commands and barometer sensor. The smartphone is likely to cost Rs 61,000./div>
